  • I am a writer, editor and author of Views from the Home Office Window: On Motherhood, Family and Life, published by Adams Street Publishing in 2007 which is available on Amazon. My feature articles on a variety of human-interest topics have been published in Newsweek, The Chicago Tribune and Northwestern Magazine and my essays have appeared in The Chicago Tribune, Tablet, Brevity, Literary Mama, Full Grown People and have aired on Chicago Public Radio/WBEZ. I have been invited to tell personal stories on numerous Chicago stages including Story Sessions, Essay Fiesta, Story Club, Is This a Thing?, You’re Being Ridiculous, Homewood Stories, This Much is True and Do Not Submit. I teach writing at Northwestern University, StoryStudio Chicago, Ice House Gallery as well as privately. I have also taught a variety of writing topics at Columbia College Chicago and North Park University, Ragdale, Off Campus Writers Workshop and New Trier Extension. I work individually with writers on their memoirs, essay collections and personal essays for academic applications. In June 2018, I was awarded the Individual Artistic Excellence Award from the Skokie Arts Commission and essays in my literary publication, Thread, have been notables in Best American Essays.
