Patricia Skalka is the author of the award-winning Dave Cubiak Door County Mysteries. "Death Washes Ashore," the sixth in the series was released in May 2021. Last year, USA Today picked her first book, "Death Stalks Door County," to represent Wisconsin in a special "50 States/50 Books to Read" feature on traveling virtually during the Covid pandemic. Harlequin Worldwide Suspense has optioned mass market paperback rights to the series which is published by the University of Wisconsin Press. A native Chicagoan and Milwaukee transplant, Patricia made the jump to fiction following a successful freelance career that included a lengthy stint as a Staff Writer for the Reader’s Digest. She’s also co-author of "Nurses On Our Own," a true story of two pioneering local nurse practitioners that was optioned for a TV movie.
