- Barry Pearce is the author of "The Plan of Chicago," a collection of linked short stories scheduled for release in November 2025. He has won the Nelson Algren Award, an IL Arts Council Award, The Mercedes Delos Jacobs Book Prize, and the Keith Wilson / Joe Somoza Poetry Prize. His fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in The Chicago Tribune, The Cimarron Review, The Colorado Review, Grand, Other Voices, Puerto del Sol, and elsewhere. As a nonfiction ghostwriter, he has completed 21 books, ranging from memoir to titles on business, real estate investing, and personal development. He was educated at Northwestern, where he received a BS from the Medill School of Journalism, and at New Mexico State University, where he received an MFA in creative writing.
