Gina DiPonio is a Chicago-based writer, editor, teacher, and professional copywriter with a long background in writing instruction and literary community work. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The Sun, Three Hawks Review, Contrary Magazine, Hair Trigger, and elsewhere. She previously served as program manager for the University of Chicago Writer’s Studio, where she helped foster a vibrant creative community.
In 2023, Gina began working with a leading technology company just as its AI tools were first released to the public. Charged with writing articles about how generative AI could make work and life easier, she quickly learned what the technology can—and can’t—do. She now brings that understanding into conversations with writers to share how AI might offer support, spark possibility, or simply remove friction—without taking over the creative work itself.
