- Richard is the author of "The Curious Odyssey of Rudolph Bloom," the first ever prequel to James Joyce's "Ulysses." He also wrote, a collection of memoir vignettes entitled "Chicago Sketches," and "1001 Train Rides in Chicago," 64 fictional vignettes of people riding Chicago's CTA trains. He has taught literature courses and seminars at the Newberry Library, the Glencoe Library, and the Oakton College Emeritus Program. He facilitates the Cliff Dweller book club. He is the past president of the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame.
