  • Judi has a fiction writing degree from Columbia College. She has written two books; Fornicationally Challenged: My Reluctant Return to Dating, and co-edited Chicago Storytellers From Stage to Page with Anne E. Beall. She has published personal essays in The South Loop Review and Story Salon, and several screenplays and teleplays have garnered recognition from Writer’s Digest and The Slamdance Competitions. Judi is a Moth winning storyteller and has written and told hundreds of stories including her comedic one-woman show: Fornicationally Challenged, directed by the renown, Mark Travis. The show had successful runs in Los Angeles and New York. Judi has been a stage actor since the age of seventeen. In her twenties, she was in an improv group with Steve Carell, and in her thirties she did dozens of national TV commercials. Most recently she was seen as a doctor in Dick Wolf’s Chicago Med. In her day job, she works for the University of Chicago Crime Lab and Education Lab. A not-for-profit organization that provides data analysis to law enforcement, city officials, and the public-school system, making Chicago safer and more equitable. Judi and Anne started Chicago Story Press, Inc. in the fall of 2020, a publishing company with the goal of bringing live storytellers to the printed page.
