I am a novelist, poet, and short story writer with material published in The Write City Magazine, Escarp, Chicago Newa, and the Midwest Review. I was awarded 2nd place in the 2015 University of Wisconsin Writers’ Institute First Page Contest for Mainstream/Literary Fiction, I won first prize in the In Print Five Year Celebration Poetry competition, and I won first prize in the Ogle Winnebago Literary Society contest for poetry. In addition, I was a finalist in the Festival for Poetry 2015 Poetry Contest. In 2017, I will have a flash fiction piece published in Word of Art 3D.
When I’m not writing, I serve as the English as a Second Language Program Coordinator at Rock Valley College, in Rockford, Illinois. I actively participate in the In Print Professional Writers Group out of Rockford, Illinois, and I am a member of the Chicago Writers Association.
